Announcement dated 4 June 2026
Meta announced plans to expand Facebook Reels AI translations to five further languages. Its post describes voice preservation and optional lip syncing, but uses future wording for the expansion. This is an AI localisation development relevant to short-drama producers, not an announcement that Meta will acquire or subsidise their series.
What to check for a series
Before using it for an AI cast, check the feature in the target account and test dialogue, character-name pronunciation and voice permissions. This review has not confirmed that every account can use all five languages or that multi-character synthetic dialogue is supported. Treat the tool as a candidate for testing, with human review of the resulting scene.
