ShortMax: what the upload terms establish for an AI-drama proposal

An upload agreement with a dated version

ShortMax’s Upload Service terms were updated on 16 April 2026. They describe video uploading, storage and sharing, and say that uploaded content remains the uploader’s property while granting the platform specified non-exclusive worldwide hosting and distribution rights. Uploaders must hold necessary rights and permissions. The agreement also restricts commercial uses without written approval. Its existence does not confirm that every account can submit a paid AI series or enter a creator revenue programme.

Prepare a rights record alongside the video

Our editorial recommendation is to map an AI production into its separate inputs before sending it anywhere: script, generated imagery, voices, music, subtitles and third-party material. Record what you created, what you licensed and what needs permission. Keep source files and the applicable tool licence information together with the export. This makes a later review more concrete and reduces the chance that a polished sample conceals an unresolved voice, music or likeness issue.

Confirm the commercial route separately

Before treating ShortMax as a distribution destination, ask whether it accepts the proposed AI workflow, who can access the relevant uploader function, and whether a separate content agreement applies. Request current specifications for duration, language, format and review, together with payment and removal terms if a commercial arrangement is offered. These are questions to resolve, not advertised benefits. The pages reviewed do not establish an AI-specific subsidy, guaranteed traffic, a minimum payment or automatic admission to the platform’s paid catalogue.
